Dutch

We found no independent test that compares these apps in Dutch. Below is what the makers say themselves. So try your own sentences, with the names and terms you use. All four have a free start.

AppWhat you get
Apple DictationDutch (Netherlands and Belgium), processed on your iPhone, with automatic punctuation. You dictate in your keyboard's language. The smarter dictation with Apple Intelligence is English only.
Wispr FlowMore than 100 languages. The app itself is in English.
SuperwhisperMore than 100 languages, with an option to translate to English. The app itself is in English.
DicteerSeven languages: Dutch, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese. Dutch with English words in between works too. Without internet, one language. The app is in Dutch and English.

Dictating in any app

AppWhat you get
Apple DictationYes. The microphone is on the regular keyboard, wherever you can type.
Wispr FlowYes, as a keyboard. To record, Wispr Flow briefly opens its own app; then you go back to your app.
SuperwhisperYes, as a keyboard, with Full Access.
DicteerYes, as a keyboard, with Full Access. On your first tap the app opens briefly, because iOS doesn't give keyboards a microphone. After that the mic stays ready for 2 minutes by default. Not in password fields and some banking apps.

AI cleanup

AppWhat you get
Apple DictationAutomatic punctuation, no AI cleanup in Dutch. On devices with Apple Intelligence you can rewrite the text afterwards with Writing Tools, also in Dutch.
Wispr FlowYes. Removes filler words and adapts tone and formatting for email, chat and more. With a personal dictionary and snippets.
SuperwhisperWith Pro: AI modes that adapt tone and formatting, and custom modes. Free: up to two modes without AI. With a custom vocabulary.
DicteerYes. Removes filler words and adds punctuation and capitals. Three styles: Casual, Business and Literal. Word list for names and terms: 50 words free, unlimited with Pro.

Privacy: where does your speech go?

AppWhat you get
Apple DictationOn your iPhone, without internet. If you dictate in a search field, the text may be sent to the search engine.
Wispr FlowAlways in the cloud. According to its privacy policy, data is transferred to and processed in the US. Audio is deleted after transcription, unless you turn on cloud storage. You can opt out of model training.
SuperwhisperYour choice: a local model on your device, or a cloud model. Superwhisper's cloud models don't store audio or text after the request. Your data isn't used to train AI. If you pick another provider's model, such as OpenAI, their terms apply. The policy doesn't name a country or region.
DicteerAfter your consent, through the Dicteer server (on Cloudflare) to Mistral. Mistral processes your audio and text via its EU endpoint, in data centres in the EU and EFTA. Dicteer and Mistral keep no recordings or dictated text. Your notes stay on your iPhone. Without internet, your iPhone recognises the dictation itself, without AI cleanup.

Meeting notes

AppWhat you get
Apple DictationTranscribing or summarising recordings in Notes and phone calls isn't available in Dutch, according to Apple's list per language.
Wispr FlowNotetaker on Mac and Windows. Mobile is on the roadmap. Free with a weekly limit.

The recording goes through the Dicteer server to Mistral in the EU and is deleted from your iPhone once the transcript is ready. You get a transcript per speaker and a report with a summary, decisions and action items; these stay on your iPhone. Meetings count towards the 10 hours per month. Not on the Mac yet.
