Comparison 2026
Dicteer or Wispr Flow?
Both are iPhone keyboards that turn your speech into clean text, in any app. Both remove filler words and learn your own words. The differences are in language, privacy, price and platforms.
Dicteer is ours. About Wispr Flow, we only state what is on its own site or App Store page. The sources are at the bottom.
Short answer
- Pick Wispr Flow if you also dictate on Windows or Android, if you need snippets or team features, or if you dictate in many different languages. Wispr Flow has been around longer and has far more ratings.
- Pick Dicteer if you mostly speak Dutch, want your speech processed in the EU, want to pay less and 10 hours a month is enough for you, or want meeting notes on your iPhone.
Do you mostly dictate on your iPhone in Dutch, or in another of Dicteer's seven languages, and want clean text processed in the EU for less than Wispr Flow costs? Then Dicteer is the best choice.

Where Wispr Flow is stronger
- More platforms: Windows and Android too.
- Snippets: insert a fixed text with a short word, already in the free version.
- Team features with Pro: a shared dictionary, shared snippets and one invoice.
- Notetaker for meetings on Mac and Windows, with no bot in your call.
- Around for longer, with far more ratings.
Where Dicteer is stronger
- Dutch is the main language and the app is in Dutch. We haven't measured whether recognition is better than Wispr Flow's.
- Recognition and cleanup happen at Mistral, in data centres in the EU and EFTA. Dicteer and Mistral keep no recordings or dictated text.
- Without internet, your iPhone recognises the dictation itself, without AI cleanup.
- Meetings on the iPhone, with Pro: up to 2 hours, a transcript per speaker and a report with decisions and action items. The recording goes through the Dicteer server to Mistral in the EU and is then deleted from your iPhone. Meetings count towards the 10 hours per month. Wispr Flow has meetings on the iPhone on its roadmap.
- Notes and a journal in the same app, stored only on your iPhone. Wispr Flow has notes too; those sync with its computer app.
- Lower price: Pro costs € 5.01 less per month and € 54.00 less per year. Note: Dicteer Pro has a limit of 10 hours per month, Wispr Flow Pro doesn't. And students pay € 7.49 per month at Wispr Flow, less than at Dicteer.
Good to know about Dicteer
- Dicteer is new. The first version came out in early November 2026.
- You need iOS 26 or later. On the Mac, you can only dictate with Pro.
- Pro has a fair-use limit: 10 hours per month and 70 minutes per day.
- On your first tap the app opens briefly, because iOS doesn't give keyboards a microphone. Wispr Flow does the same. After that, Dicteer keeps the mic ready for 2 minutes by default.
- There is no trial. The 2,500 free words per week are the way to try it.

Questions
Is Dicteer cheaper than Wispr Flow?
For most people, yes. On the Dutch App Store, Dicteer Pro costs € 9.99 per month or € 89.99 per year, and Wispr Flow Pro € 15.00 per month or € 143.99 per year. But Dicteer Pro has a limit of 10 hours per month and 70 minutes per day; Wispr Flow Pro dictates without limits. Students pay € 7.49 per month or € 72.00 per year at Wispr Flow. Both have a free version with a weekly limit.

Can I try both?
Yes. You can install both keyboards at the same time and switch with the globe key. Try the same sentences in both, with the names and terms you use.
